This fee is for Artist's that are not Members or Students of Community Clay who are wishing to have items fired. Clay must be purchased from us to fire in our kilns.

For ease of Drop Off, please have a list of your items (and sizes) handy to fill out our firing form. Bisque items must be BONE DRY. If your item explodes in the kiln you will be charged a kiln cleaning fee. If your items are the wrong clay temperature you will be charged for all damages, including replacing the kiln if necessary. We fire Bisque to 04 and Glaze to a hot 5. If you would like other temperatures please email.

1- On the firing form provided, please record the width, length, and the height of the piece. Then multiple the item by .04 or .06 and this is the item price. 

Bisque Firing- Square Inches x $0.04

A tumbler that is 3x3x3.75" is 3x3x3.75x.04= $1.35

Eg- Tumbler, 3x3x3.75": $1.35; Mug, 3.75 x 3.75 x 4"; $2.25; Bowl, 6x6x3.5": $5.04

Glaze Firing- Square Inches x $0.06

A tumbler that is 3x3x3.75" is 3x3x3.75x.06= $2.06

Eg- Mug, 3.75 x 3.75 x 4"; $3.38; Bowl, 6x6x3.5": $7.56

• Plates or low items are considered as 3" tall due to shelf requirements
• Glaze not included.

Drop off & Pick Up Schedule:

• To Drop Off please send an email so that we know when to expect you.
• After firing, you will receive an email when your items have been Bisque fired -usually within 2-10 business days after drop off- please come within one week to collect your work as per the dates in your firing email. 
• We recommend collecting your items as soon as possible so they are not damaged or go missing. 
• Remember to bring packaging to collect your items!
• We reserve the right to toss any items that linger beyond the week deadline.
• Please note you are not allowed to send someone to pick up work for you, unless you pay for for Work Collection.
• Please be advised that the door is locked at the class start time, so please do not attempt to gain access if you arrive and the door is locked.
  
  • Please do not disrupt the Members or Staff by knocking to gain access, as you will be turned away. No exceptions.

Drop Off  & Pick Up times change weekly, so double check here before coming to the Studio. Please give yourself 10-15 minutes before the door is locked to get your items sorted. If you arrive 5 minutes before it's locked you will be turned away.

If you are not going to be around to collect your things, you may select work collection. This fee is per box- your items will be placed into a clay box or max 15 items. If you have multiple boxes please select multiple fees. Please email a photo of all your items, and when your items are ready you will be sent an email to book a pick up.

Please note that we require testing of Glazes from outside the studio, please create a test bowl (glazed on the inside only) or test tiles and place on cookies. If your glaze drips on the shelf you will be charged for grinding or replacing the shelf $20-100+tx.

Hand-carved porcelain Fruit Bowl made completely by hand in Vancouver, BC steps from the Pacific Ocean. Handcrafted from start to finish: thrown on the pottery wheel, trimmed and fired in an electric kiln. The vase is then thoughtfully hand-painted with an 18 karat gold emulsion, and fired for a third time. As it is handmade there may be slight differences in the shape, size and graphics on each vase.

If an item is over, count it twice. Ie- a 9" x 9" x 5" bowl, count it twice. The bowl is considered one wareboard.

Price includes firing of glaze items.

For Members using the Glaze Lab, please write your order number on your firing tag.

Please note that the wire cutters are slightly different than pictured- they are slightly shorter, and have a braided, thicker wire which is less prone to tangling and kinking.
